Terms of Use

Version 2026-09. Chita is run by MakIT Solutions Limited, Lusaka, Zambia.

The short version

  • Chita is a noticeboard with a memory. Clients post jobs, taskers offer, the two of you agree, and Chita keeps the record.
  • The job is between the client and the tasker. Chita is not the employer, not the buyer, not the seller, and not a party to the work.
  • Payment goes directly from client to tasker. Chita does not hold, move or guarantee money.
  • Be honest, turn up, and treat people well. Break that and you lose your account.

1. What Chita is

Chita is an online platform where people who need something done (clients) meet people who can do it (taskers). Chita provides the introduction, the messaging, the record of what was agreed and what happened, and identity checks on taskers. Chita does not carry out tasks, employ taskers, supervise the work, or own any goods bought on a shopping run.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over and give your real name and a working Zambian mobile number. One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your login, so keep your password to yourself. Chita may ask taskers for a National Registration Card and a live photo before they can make offers; that check is described in the privacy notice.

3. Taskers are independent

A tasker works for themselves. Accepting a task on Chita does not make anyone an employee, agent or contractor of Chita or of MakIT Solutions. Taskers choose which tasks to offer on, set their own price, use their own tools and transport, and are responsible for their own tax, licences and insurance. Chita's verification badge means we checked the person's identity; it is not a guarantee of their skill, conduct or results.

4. The agreement between client and tasker

When a client accepts an offer, the client and tasker have a direct agreement with each other for that task at the agreed price. Chita records the title, price, times, messages and completion so both sides have the same version of events. If a task changes (more work, different price), agree it in the chat so the record shows it.

5. Money

Clients pay taskers directly, usually by mobile money, at the time the two of you agree. Chita is not a bank, a wallet or an escrow service, and does not take payments on anyone's behalf. Any subscription a tasker pays to Chita is for use of the platform and is separate from what a client pays a tasker.

Shopping runs. A tasker should not spend their own money on goods unless the client has first sent the agreed goods budget and the tasker has confirmed receiving it in the app. Receipts are uploaded to the task. Goods belong to the client from the moment they are paid for; the tasker is carrying them, not buying them for resale.

6. What Chita cannot be used for

Anything illegal in Zambia, and specifically: alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, prescription medicines, weapons or ammunition, illegal substances, and moving cash, airtime or foreign currency. The app blocks tasks that mention these, and people who work around the block lose their accounts. Also not allowed: harassment, threats, discrimination, contacting someone outside a task to avoid the record, and anything that puts a person or a home at risk.

7. Safety and problems

Use the in-app chat so there is a record. Clients should not hand over keys or leave a tasker alone in the home on a first task. Taskers should not enter a home they feel unsafe in. If something goes wrong, use "Report a problem" on the task. Chita will look at the record and may warn, suspend or ban an account. For theft, damage or harm, contact the police; Chita will share the task record with them on lawful request.

8. Chita's responsibility, and its limits

Chita provides the platform with reasonable care and skill, but it is provided "as is" and may be unavailable at times. To the extent the law allows, MakIT Solutions is not liable for the quality of work, for goods bought or delivered, for loss or damage to property, for injury, or for money paid between users. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Zambian consumer law that cannot be excluded.

9. Your content

You own what you post. You give Chita permission to show it inside the app so tasks and profiles work. Do not post other people's personal details, photos of other people without their consent, or anything you do not have the right to share.

10. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from your Profile. Chita can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice depending on how serious it is. Records of completed tasks may be kept for as long as the law or a dispute needs them.

11. Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, you will be asked to read and accept the new version the next time you open Chita. The version number at the top tells you which one you agreed to.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Zambia. Questions or complaints: WhatsApp +260 97 987 5211 or email hello@chitazm.com.

Tasker agreement

By making an offer on Chita, a tasker also agrees to the following.

  • I am who I say I am. The NRC and photo I gave are mine. I will not lend my account to anyone.
  • I work for myself. I am not employed by Chita. I am responsible for my own tax, and for any licence my trade needs.
  • I turn up. If I cannot, I say so in the chat as early as I can. Repeated no-shows end my account.
  • I do not touch the client's property except for the job. Nothing leaves the home that is not part of the task.
  • On shopping runs I wait for the goods budget before buying, buy what was agreed, keep the receipt and upload it, and hand over any change.
  • I keep it on the record. Price changes and extra work are agreed in the chat, not on the side.
  • I treat people with respect, and I leave a home I feel unsafe in and report it.

Chita. Let's get it done.
